Hard to believe November is already here! We had a busy week last week with pumpkin carving, our first Young Peoples Concert and the Halloween dance. I was proud to see all of our class and our Little Buddies creative pumpkins displayed at Gardengate on Thursday. The kids had a wonderful time dancing up a storm in their costumes on Friday. We also had fun playing Halloween Bingo on Monday. Thanks to those families that followed our "Healthy Schools Policy" and did not send candy to school. I really appreciate it.

During the first few weeks of November, we will be covering the following:
- Science - continuing to work on our Weather unit through experiments, observation, and measuring the weather we see
- Visual Arts - experimenting with warm and cool colours while creating a Remembrance Day project
- Health and Career/Social Studies - monitoring our progress with the goal we set for building a better class community - we will be courteous and considerate.
- Computers/Math - I will be introducing the kids to an online Math program called TenMarks. I will post Math questions, as closely related to what students are working on with Mr. Weddell, and the kids can work through them at their own pace. There are reward games and activities they can earn by completing a certain number of questions. The students will each have a login that they can use at school as well as at home. I personally love the HELP SECTION (has HINTS and VIDEOS) to the right of each question, which is a great way to help parents at home if they are not sure how to properly teach the concept to their child.
Upcoming Event: Gr.4 Ski Trip to Harper Mountain
Unfortunately at this time, not enough students from our class have shown interest in the trip. If seven more students sign up by this Friday (Nov. 4), we will be able to join Mrs. Rasmussen's class. However, if we do not have enough kids who have commit to the trip, no one in our class will be able to attend.
