Time is certainly flying by. It's December this week and we have our Winter Celebration on the brain! Our afternoon sharing event will be held in the gym at 1:30pm on Wednesday, December 7th. We will be busy rehearsing and running through the play once a day. Some of the kids are continuing to do a wonderful job memorizing their lines. The students have written down what colour clothing or costumes they need to wear on December 7th. I am still looking for a large cardboard box that we can paint on Tuesday and Thursday. Can you please let me know if you have something that could work.
We will go over our Science weather test this week, your child will bring home his/her test for you to look over with him/her. Please sign and return the test so I can be sure you have seen how your child did. We will also complete a few lessons about how we can use weather patterns to predict weather (second part of our weather unit). During the last week before Winter Break, we will focus on how weather affects living and non-living things (Final part of our weather unit).
Mr. Weddell has started multiplication in Math. There are some new multiplication questions on the student's TenMarks program. Some of the kids are doing lot of extra practice at home! Keep it up. This is my first year using the program myself, so if you run into problems let me know and I will do my best to find out how to help.
Students will be dismissed at 12:30pm on Friday, December 2nd, to accommodate Parent/Teacher interviews. They will be run as they did in October, on a first come first serve basis. I will be available for meetings (in my classroom) from 1:15-2:30pm. If you are not able to meet with myself of Mr. Weddell at these times, please be aware that I can meet with you right after school (2:30-3:00pm). I am also available to conference with you by phone as well. Just write a not in your child's agenda or send me an email and we can sort something out.
