Thanks for all those families that came to the Open House last week! I hope you were proud to see the accomplishments your child has made so far this term.
The weather unit final test will be this Thursday. We have completed review questions as a class and I encourage the students to study at home as well. They are welcome to take their science duo-tangs home (which contains worksheets and information about the unit) under the condition that they bring them back to school on Thursday.
If your child has not already told you, our special winter activity with our Little Buddies is a Reader's Theatre play based on the book, The Mitten (written and illustrated by Jan Brett). Parents are invited to come to the school gym Wednesday, December 7th to watch our presentation. At this time, I believe we will start around 1:30 or 1:45 pm. Once we get a clearer idea of how long the play will run, I will post the finalized time on the blog. The students have been busy rehearsing and memorizing lines. It's wonderful to see that some students are acting very responsibly and are practicing at home as well! Please remember the scripts need to back to school every day, as we rehearse daily. The students and I were discussing how they would like to present the play yesterday. They will be writing down what they need to wear as a costume in their agendas this week (costumes will be very simple, all brown, red shirt and black pants, etc.). We will need a large, rectangular cardboard box, to use as a "fireplace". If you have one and are willing to donate it to the class, please let me know.
Just a reminder to return library books, as there are a few students with overdue books, or replacement fines for books that have been lost.
Thanks for checking our blog each week!
Please don't hesitate to contact me at the school of through email ([email protected]).
