HIGHLIGHTS FROM LAST WEEK:
WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEK:
Hard to believe it is already mid-June! We have quite a few special presentations and our June field trips coming up in the next 2 weeks. I have had quite a few adults contact me about coming to Rainbow’s Roost with us on Wednesday; however, we can only take 2-3 adult volunteers with us. I will send a note in your child’s Back and Forth folder on Monday saying whether or not we need your help on Wednesday for Rainbow’s Roost. Please keep in mind we need MANY adult volunteers to help out on PRIMARY FUN DAY (Monday, June 19th) with swimming (7-8 adults, including at least 1 male to supervise in the boys change room) in the pool or bringing items for the park. Sign-up sheets are on the hallway bulletin board.
This week in the Jolly Phonics program - we will review all the sounds we have learned in Kindergarten and try out a few activities from Jolly Phonics level 2 (this level is usually for the beginning of grade 1, but I challenged the kindies to see if we can do some at the end of K :D) In Printing, we will work on finishing the last lower case letters is our books f, q, x and z. In Socials/Physical and Health Education, we will begin our community and safety theme. In particular, this week we will talk about who helps us in the community, water safety and road/sidewalk safety (for our upcoming field trip to the Brock Pool). We will also work on Father’s Day projects this week.
