I trust everyone had a wonderful Spring Break! I am currently stuck on the Coquihalla highway (it has been 4 hours already :( So hopefully we'll make it to Kamloops before too late tonight. I believe the winter boot racks were removed from the hallways over the break. Therefore, the Kindergartens will bring their shoes/boots into the classroom and put them in their bottom shelf.
HIGHLIGHTS FROM LAST WEEK:
WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEK:
This week’s Jolly Phonics sound/letter is “w”. In Printing, we will review capital “Magic C letters” (letters that all begin like a “c”): C, O and Q and introduce letters that start in the middle: S, A, I. In Science, we will begin finishing up the past parts of our penguin inquiry projects so we are ready to share our learning with our families on April 20th at 5-6pm.
This week we will continue with the Healthy Living theme by discussing the importance of exercise, body parts and their function (e.g., skin, bones, muscles, heart, etc.). If you have not already done so, please send a family photo (it does not have to be recent, or it can be 2 separate photos if need) so we can continue adding to our “Family Wall” and talking about who helps keep us safe and healthy.
April 20th - Celebration of Learning (aka: Student-lead “Brag” Night) from 5:00-6:00pm. The kids are very excited to be the “teacher” and show you all the amazing things they have been learning about penguins. The classroom will be open for families to stop by anytime between 5:00 and 6:00 pm. If you are unable to come on the 20th, please make arrangements with me for another date. I would hate to have any students or families miss out on this special event. Please keep in mind this is not a time to have a parent teacher interview with me (as there will be an opportunity for those on April 13th), but for your child to show you around the classroom. :)
