It was wonderful to have many families attend our Celebration of Learning last week. I’m sure many of you were proud to see how much your children have progressed this year. :) If you were unable to attend, please send a note with your availability in your child’s Back & Forth folder or speak to Ms. Gartrell so we can work out another time.
HIGHLIGHTS FROM LAST WEEK:
WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEK:
We have a 4-day week ahead of us due to Monday being a PRO-D day. Wednesday the 26th is our field trip to the Big Little Science Centre from 10:30-12:00pm. We have the necessary parent volunteer drivers! :) If you checked off on the permission from that you were able to drive, I have noted you have committed to do so. Please remember you must complete a SD73 Volunteer Driver form and show the school office your driver’s license and insurance papers. Drivers, please arrive at the school at 10:10am, so we can leave right at the recess bell. We will leave the Science Centre around 12:00pm. Thanks so much for volunteering! Also note, that all students who require a booster seat will need to bring it to school the morning of the field trip (Weds. April 26).
This week’s Jolly Phonics sounds/letters are “x” and “ch” (a blend). In Printing, we will continue with our lower case letters with v and w. In Math, we will work on addition equations using our bodies, manipulative and numerals. Zero the Hero (or maybe his sister Zeroina ;) ) will come visit the kids on Thursday for our 130th day of Kindergarten. We will also talk about why families are important, family member roles and graph how many family members are in our families.
UPCOMING FIELD TRIP: May 4th and 11th - Gymnastics at TCC - Permission forms and $14 fee are due April 28th. (this fee cover 2 gymnastics classes and 4 bus rides). These fun outings are a part of our Kindergarten PE program.
